In the quest to give back to society, Lawrencia Okyere, the founder of Lawren foundation decided to take it upon her shoulders for the second time to help needy students within the Ashanti Berkwai Municipality by helping to solve health-related issues in the communities within the Ashanti Berkwai Municipality.
The year 2022 came up with a lot of economic uncertainties and hardship but on Friday 3rd September 2022 which history will have it as a memorable day in the lives of the people at the Anwiakwanta community in the Asante Berkwai Municipal, where Lawren foundation provided free health insurance registration for the needy children under 18 years.
About 200 and over of needy school-going children were scouted in the various schools across the Anwiankwanta community and were given free health insurance registration. Every student was given a customized exercise book and snacks.
It is the general objective of the LAWREN FOUNDATION to embark on philanthropic activities with the key objective of assisting in providing health care to communities across the country. The motive behind this exercise has always been the same, is to help solve health problems and related issues by using the health insurance smart-card for these children whenever they get sick or unexpected illnesses come across their path in the line of perusing their academics. Also, to create a sound studying mind to release the financial burden of the parents of these children whenever they encounter health problems. This initiative of providing health care to the good people of Anwiankwanta is just in line with the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) number three (3) which is “GOOD HEALTH AND WELL BEING”. The Lawren foundation over the years is concerned with providing health care in the form of free health insurance registration to communities which is a key component in getting health care services in Ghana.
Sincerely, this second edition which was dubbed “September to Remember” turned out to be massive, the excitement seen in the faces of the face of beneficiaries and the enthusiasm of which parents came by to support the exercise was amazing.
Before the exercise, Owusu Prince Snr the Director of Projects had the opportunity to air to the good people of Anwiankwanta and its surroundings how the whole exercise started, the motives, and the future prospects at Nkomo Fm at Anwiankwanta. The Assembly member of the Anwiankwanta electoral area played a vital role in the organization of the exercise.
In all the exercise was a successful one.
